When pricing, we include for new high quality hinges on doors and casement windows, pulleys and ropes on sash windows, plus any hardware (draught seals etc) which is standard and integrated into the items. However, as there is such a plethora of lovely hardware in the market, Fire-Bird don’t specify or price for espagnolette bolts, locks, catches, sash lifts, opening restrictors etc..

When we understand the client’s requirements, we will suggest different options for the window and door hardware.

In many instances, the new joinery is to be installed in historic houses and, in those cases, new, bright brassware will look completely wrong, so we give our clients the option to have the lacquer stripped from the new items, then to have them patinated and antiqued, so they are in keeping with the historic fabric of the building.
